The Laboratory of Cell Biology https://bit.ly/3p1pPCK at the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw (IIMCB) headed by Prof. Marta Miączyńska is inviting applications for a Research Specialist.

 

You will join the Team of the Research Task entitled “Horizon for Excellence in messenger RNA applications in immunoOncology” (WIB-1/2020-O11) financed by the Virtual Research Institute (WIB) from the Polish Science Fund. The primary objective of this Research Team is to develop a highly effective therapeutic mRNA design and apply it for cancer immunotherapy. The Research Task will be carried out by a team of scientists from the IIMCB (coordinator), the University of Warsaw, the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Medical University of Warsaw.

 

As a Research Specialist, you will be involved in performing experiments in the field of molecular cell biology, including culturing of primary mouse cells and their biochemical and microscopic analyses. Role in the Research Task: Technical Support.

 

Requirements for the candidate:

1. MSc in biological sciences or a related discipline

2. Laboratory experience in molecular cell biology, especially cell culture techniques (experience in primary cell cultures and/or working with laboratory animals, attested by appropriate certification, would be an advantage)

3. Experience in techniques such as Western Blot, immunofluorescence staining, fluorescence in situ hybridization, basics of confocal microscopy will be desirable

4. Command of spoken and written English

5. Commitment and initiative, and the ability to work as part of a team

6. Reliability, accuracy and timeliness in the implementation of tasks

7. Compliance with the non-compete policy in accordance with the WIB Program guidelines

 

Selection criteria:

1. Education, completed courses and training

2. Technical competence, experience and fit of the expertise to the position

3. Command of English language

4. Soft skills – motivation letter, communication skills, effective work organization, ability for effective teamwork, likelihood to fit to the group, compatibility of plans for individual development with the goals of the group

 

Candidates will be selected in an open competition, according to the procedure complying with the rules of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers as a part of HR Excellence in Research strategy https://bit.ly/3fNRBN8

 

We offer:

1. Full employment contract initially for 6 months and extending up to 28 months or more (if an extension of the Research Task is granted)

2. Salary in the range of 6500-7500 PLN gross, depending on the candidate's experience and skills
