Research Specialist in the Laboratory of Neurodegeneration

Laboratory of Neurodegeneration at the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IIMCB) in Warsaw https://shorturl.at/p4ifU  headed by Prof. Jacek Kuznicki is looking for a Research Specialist to join a project that aims at elucidating the mechanisms of Parkinson Disease. The aim of this project is to identify ferroptosis associated genes that are turned on or off in LRRK2 and PINK1 Parkinson Disease models when MCU inactivation rescues dopaminergic neurons, and to understand the mechanism of protection.

As a research specialist you will be mainly responsible for culture of iPS cells, their differentiation to dopaminergic neurons and glial cells, and characterization of their ferroptotic features.

Requirements for the candidate:

• Holds at least MSc degree in biology, pharmacology, chemistry, biochemistry or related discipline.
• Has previous documented lab experience in cell culture, experience in culture of iPSCs will
  be of advantage.
• Has excellent interpersonal skills, initiative and ability to work independently.
• Proficiency in English.

• Full employment contract for 6 months with the possibility of extension for up to 4 years.
• Gross monthly remuneration at least 6 600 PLN (the final monthly gross salary will be calculated individually during the employment process, considering the length of service). Additional bonuses such as the 13th salary (after working for the Institute for six months in a given calendar year).
