Postdoctoral Researcher Position in the Laboratory of Cellular Genomics

The Laboratory of Cellular Genomics at the International Institute for Molecular and Cell Biology (IIMCB) https://shorturl.at/EEwOl Warsaw, headed by Dr Aleksandra Kołodziejczyk, seeks a motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join a project that aims to understand functions of new subtypes of dendritic cells in health and in asthma. You will work on the project funded by OPUS grant of the National Science Centre, Poland in entitled: “Discovering the Diversity and its Drivers of Novel Lung Dendritic Cell Subsets in Asthma.” (2024/55/I/NZ6/02571). The deadline for applications is 15^th December 2025. The proposed start date of employment is 1^st March 2026 (flexible).

As a Postdoctoral researcher, you will be responsible for scRNAseq and functional analyses of dendritic cells to understand their functions in asthma. Specific tasks will depend on applicants experience and interests. We welcome applications from both ‘wet’ and ‘dry’ scientists.

Requirements:

• Hold a PhD degree in Biology, Immunology, Medicine or an equivalent field. Candidates with degrees in other fields including Engineering, Computer science, or Physics will also be considered if they have relevant experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
• High motivation and proactive and collaborative attitude

Selection criteria:

1. Education, technical competencies, experience, and alignment of specialized knowledge with the requirements of the position.

2. Scientific achievements - publications, awards, grants, national and international training, etc.

3. Proficiency in spoken and written English.
4. Soft skills - motivation letter, communication skills, ability for effective teamwork, likelihood to fit to the group, compatibility of plans for individual development with the goals of the group.

Previous experience in one of methods mentioned below:

• FACS, cell sorting
• working with dendritic cells in culture
• working with mice
• preparing sequencing libraries for Illumina (RNAseq, ChIPseq or CUT&Tag)
• bioinformatics experience in analysis of sequencing data (for example RNAseq, ATACseq, ChIPseq, metagenomics, etc.)
