Postdoctoral Researcher in the Laboratory of Protein Metabolism
The Laboratory of Protein Metabolism (website) at the International Institute for Molecular and Cell Biology (IIMCB), Warsaw, led by Prof. Wojciech Pokrzywa, is seeking a highly motivated, creative, and independent Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team. The position is funded by the National Science Centre (NCN) under the SONATA BIS project no. 2021/42/E/NZ1/00190, titled: “Adaptation of Proteins to Evade Premature Degradation by the Ubiquitin-Proteasome System.”
The ideal candidate should be able to pursue challenging tasks and achieve objectives and collaborate with other researchers. Candidates will be selected in an open competition, according to the procedure complying with the rules of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers as a part of HR Excellence in Research Strategy https://shorturl.at/f2CpW
The deadline for applications is 10.03.2025. Start of employment is 01.08.2025.
About the project:
Our research focuses on elucidating the mechanisms of ubiquitin signaling, with a particular emphasis on the regulation of cullin receptors and the identification of degrons. The successful candidate will contribute to deciphering how ubiquitination modulates protein stability and function, leveraging molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, proteomics, and advanced imaging techniques. Additionally, there will be an opportunity to engage in side projects related to proteostasis, allowing for creative exploration and innovation within the field.
