Bioinformatics Senior Specialist position in the Laboratory of Cellular Genomics

 

The Laboratory of Cellular Genomics at the International Institute for Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw, (IIMCB) https://shorturl.atEEwOl headed by Dr Aleksandra Kołodziejczyk, seeks a motivated Bioinformatics Senior Specialist to join a project that aims to identify markers of metabolic steatohepatitis. You will work on the project entitled: Identification of markers of metabolic steatohepatitis” funded by the Medical Research Agency grant (KPOD.07.07-IW.07-0158/24). The deadline for applications is 28th February 2025. Interviews of selected candidates will be done on the 6th of March. The proposed start date of employment is 1st April 2025.

As a Bioinformatics Senior Specialist you will be responsible for analysis of multi-omic data obtained from humans, with a particular focus on the analysis of metabolic states and microbiome.

Requirements:

  • PhD degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Medicine or an equivalent field.
    Candidates with degrees in other fields including Engineering, Computer science, or Physics will also be considered if they have relevant experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • High motivation and proactive and collaborative attitude
  • Experience in analysis and integration of multi-omic data (metagenomics, metabolomics, proteomics)
  • GCP certificate and experience in analysis of data from clinical studies will be a plus

  1. Education and other formal credentials.
  2. Technical competence, experience and fit of the expertise to the position.
  3. Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  4. Soft skills – motivation letter, communication and cooperation skills, ability for effective teamwork, likelihood to fit an add value to the group, effective work organization, compatibility of plans for individual development with the goals of the group.
