Postdoctoral researchers, PhD Students and Research Technician in the Laboratory of RNA Biology led by Profesor Andrzej Dziembowski

The Laboratory of RNA Biology led by Profesor Andrzej Dziembowski is seeking highly motivated individuals at various scientific levels and different scientific backgrounds to join the group. We are especially looking for people experienced/interested in:

•             RNA biology

•             Transcriptomics

•             Immunology

•             Usage of  mouse and/or C. elegans as experimental models

We offer positions for postdoctoral researchers, PhD students and research technican on a competitive basis. We also have research possibilities for undergraduates (supported by stipends) to perform their master (or equivalent) studies.

We are looking for:

  • Postdoctoral researchers, NCN projects, gross remuneration ~8400 PLN/month (specific requirements for  particular positions you will find below)
  • PhD students, NCN and FNP projects (specific requirements  for  particular positions you will find below)
  • Research Technician, gross remuneration ~4200 – 5600 PLN/month, depending on experience (specific requirements  for  particular positions you will find below)

The deadline for applications is January 31st, 2020. Preferred job starting date is  March 1st, 2020 (or as soon as possible).

Research focus: The primary research interest of the laboratory is the regulation of gene expression at the posttranscriptional level. Currently, our research is focused on two areas:

  • Analysis of the function of processive ribonucleases
  • Analysis of cytoplasmic non-canonical poly(A) and poly(U) polymerases

Postdocs:

You will join the projects entitled „Oncogenic mechanisms of DIS3 mutations” UMO-2016/22/A/NZ4/00380 or “Analysis of the role of cytoplasmic polyadenylation in the regulation of the innate immune response” UMO-2019/33/B/NZ2/01773 grants of the Polish National Science Centre.

We offer:

  • Full-time contract (“umowa o pracę”), guaranteed for at least one year
  • Extension and increased funding available, depending on successful performance and grant/fellowship proposals
  • ~8400 PLN/month of total gross remuneration cost, i.e., expected net salary at ~5900 PLN/month, with social security
  •  Appointment available from March 2020 or as soon as possible after that date
  • Position with 100% focus on research (no teaching obligations)

We require:

  • MSc degree (or equivalent) in biology or medical sciences, or related area (defended before the start of the work on the project)
  • Eligibility for PhD studies in Poland
  • A proactive approach to achieving tasks and objectives, good interpersonal skills, a collaborative attitude
  • Experience in basic molecular biology and/or biochemistry techniques
  • Have very good written and oral communication in English
  • Enjoy working in a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary environment

The PhD scholarship will be awarded to a person who successfully passes the recruitment process to the indicated doctoral school http://www.warsaw4phd.eu/ and receives the status of PhD student.

“Oncogenic mechanisms of DIS3 mutations” carried out as the MAESTRO (UMO-2016/22/A/NZ4/00380) grant of the Polish National Science Centre;

“Analysis of the role of cytoplasmic polyadenylation in the regulation of the innate immune response” carried out as OPUS (UMO-2019/33/B/NZ2/01773) grant of the Polish National Science Centre;

“Functional interactions of human proteins involved in post-transcriptional regulatory mechanism” carried out as TEAM (POIR.04.04.00-00-1A72/16-00) grant of the Foundation for Polish Science.
