Postdoctoral Researcher Position in the Laboratory of Cellular Genomics

The newly created Laboratory of Cellular Genomics at the International Institute for Molecular and Cell Biology (IIMCB) https://www.iimcb.gov.pl/en/, Warsaw, headed by Dr. Aleksandra A Kołodziejczyk, seeks a motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join a project that aims to study the role of microbiome in the gut-liver axis focusing on liver cirrhosis.  You will work on the project funded by NAWA PP BPN/PPO/2022/1/00023/DEC/1 entitled: “Gut-liver axis in liver cirrhosis”. Requirements:

• Hold a PhD degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Medicine or equivalent field. Candidates with degrees in other fields including Engineering, Computer science, Physics will also be considered if they have relevant experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
• High motivation and proactive and collaborative attitude

Previous experience in one or more methods mentioned below is desirable (but not prerequisite):

• Sequencing libraries generation (RNAseq, ATACseq, ChIPseq, CUT&Tag, single cell genomics, metagenomics)
• Cell culture (cell lines, organoids, CRISPR-based cell line modification techniques)
• Microbiology (culturing bacterial isolates, phenotyping, working anaerobically, working with protozoa and fungi)
• Working with mice
• FACS, cell sorting
• Metabolomics (HPLC, MS)
• Bioinformatics, Data science (R, Python, analysis of sequencing data, analysis of metabolomics)

• Full employment contract initially for 6 months, with the possibility of extension up to 36 months 
• Competitive salary of about 6000 PLN net/month (the final monthly gross salary will be calculated individually during the employment process, taking into account the length of service). Additional bonuses such as the 13th salary after working for the Institute for six months in a given calendar year
