Dioscuri Centre for Chromatin Biology and Epigenomics at the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology, Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral candidate to work at the interface of stem cell biology, epigenomics, and bioinformatics.

 

 

Requirements:

The successful applicant should hold a Ph.D. and have received formal training in molecular biology, stem cell biology, or a related field. Ambition, productivity, and creativity are a must. Preferred candidates should be fluent in English.

Description:

 

We offer a vibrant, highly collaborative, and stimulating environment for scientific growth. Our well-funded laboratory (https://ncn.gov.pl/dioscuri/) employs "omics" technologies to understand the bases of cell identity. Our goal is to decipher the molecular mechanisms orchestrating neural cell development and functions. We are particularly interested in the gene regulatory network underlying the biology of human astrocytes, with a particular focus on distal regulatory elements.

 

The successful candidate will apply state-of-the-art high throughput sequencing-based technologies, including Hi-C, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, and RNA-seq, and computational tools to identify and characterize regulatory elements, including enhancers and insulators, that are active in astrocytes. The candidate will use CRISPR-Cas9 mediated genome editing to test the relevance of the identified elements for astrocyte biology and neurological disease.
