BioForum
Since its beginnings in 2000, BioForum has become a centre of innovative biobusiness that integrates entrepreneurs related to the fields of biotechnology, pharmacy and veterinary, as well as scientific research teams. Because of the fact, that partnership in CEE is speeding up, makes this region attractive for investors and companies from other parts of the world. At the very beginning, BioForum was a meeting platform for both scientists and entrepreneurs. Each year, it was growing up and gathering more and more participants – only from Poland at the beginning.
This growth and the demand for collaboration with other countries from the region, caused that in 2012 BioForum was held in Brno, Czech Republic and in 2013 it was organised in Budapest, Hungary. During that 2013 edition, Hungarian Biotechnology Association and Polish Biotechnology Association signed up a cooperative agreement. This document has indicated the most crucial purposes for development in life science sector in CEE. To indicate
international range, undersecretary of Polish Ministry, Grażyna Henclewska and Cséfalvay Zoltán, vice minister of Hungarian National Economy were present. After two years abroad, BioForum came back to its home – Łodź, Poland in 2014 and it was a success.
The presence of Ada Yonath, 2011 Nobel Prize Winner from Israel, and Steven Burill, venture capitalist as keynote speakers was an important success factor. It was also the first time when biotechnology environment from South America was present on this event.
We do hope that next edition of BioForum will write another important chapter in CEE bio-business history.
It is our pleasure to welcome you on the 14th edition of BioForum, which will be held on the 20th and 21st of May 2015 in Wroclaw, Poland. Due to BioForum 2014 success, we have decided to move the event to the southern part of Poland. We hope to give you an opportunity to establish profitable partnership between entrepreneurs and researchers, not only from Central Europe, but, because of the strong rise in the importance of BioForum in the region, also for partners from the whole world. We strongly believe that 14th edition will be even more expanded than last one and that with our faith and diligence we can create together better possibilities for our present and future societies.

We are pleased to announce that Franklin Pitcher Johnson jr. is going to be a Keynote Speaker at BioForum 2015.
Mr Johnson is a venture capitalist, founder of Asset Management Company which has made over 250 venture investments. These have included Amgen, Applied Bio Systems, Applied Micro Circuits, Conductus, Hybritech, IDEC Pharmaceuticals, Octel, Qume, Red Brick Systems, Remedy, Sierra Semiconductor, Tandem Computer, Teradyne and Verity.
He is a past director of the National Venture Capital Association, a past president of the Western Association of Venture Capitalists.He has served as an advisor to several eastern European countries since 1990 in the area of entrepreneurship and privatization, and has helped form venture funds in several countries.
